Love him or hate him, but you cannot like him. The church is to be marked by devotion to Jesus. Many today, particularly in the West, like to think of Jesus as a teacher, or as a sage dispensing wisdom. However whenever you read Jesus in the gospels you’ll see, many experienced Jesus but none liked him. Some hated him, others feared him, many were devoted to him. Love him or hate him, but you cannot like him.
